  • The Indo-Scythians, or Indo-Sakas, existed between the years of approximately 150 BCE to 400 CE. A nomadic group from Central Asia, the Indo-Scythians migrated to Southern Asia between the second and fourth centuries. For Scythian warriors, horses were imperative in battles: assisting in their conquest of the Indo-Greeks and other local people. The first king of the Indo-Scythian Kingdom was Maues, who ruled from 98 or 85 BCE to 60 or 57 BCE. The reign of the Indo-Scythians came to an end when its last ruler was defeated in 395 CE by Chandragupta II, emperor of the Gupta Empire.
